The Afghan Child Education and Care Organization (AFCECO) is in an emergency situation.  This Afghan non-profit organization based in Kabul and devoted to shelter orphaned refugee children from the regions of Pakistan and Afghanistan, is running out of budget: their funding for AFCECO Learning Centre through USAID hasn´t being renewed. In words of the Founding director Andeisha Farid, “AFCECO New Learning Center had been an amazing opportunity for the over 500 children in the Kabul orphanages. The academic support, the music program, art program, leadership workshop, computer training and language training programs had raised the children’s competency and capacity level far above anything they could possibly have gained without the center”

The AFGHAN children's America Tour has begun, and it is going spectacularly well. Even Mother Nature is cooperating, with a mild winter and easy driving down from Boston to D.C. A note to all those in the U.S. State Department, the AFCECO troupe is giving a presentation for Ambassador Vermeer in Washington D.C. on this Friday, January 13th at 11am. The past friday 9th of December was a historic and happy day for AFCECO and for Afghanistan as the children and staff and our friends here in Kabul were graced with a special and personal concert by the one and the only Ustad Arman, the legendary Afghan musician who is the founder and great teacher of Afghanistan’s music institute.
